Even though I graduated several times from different level of school, this is really my first time to attend foreigners’ grad of military college. US Army War College is located at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. We went north and drove 2.5 hours in the early morning. When our car left DC, the scenes on the road turned into grasslands, along with the heavy rain hit our glasses. Fortunately, bad weather left when we arrived at Carlisle Barracks.
The site of graduation was held outdoor and set up a white camp. This scene seemed very familiar to the movie we ever saw before. Before the graduation ceremony began, we found our national flag were among the background of flag seas. That’s really very hard to describe our exciting and touching. The ceremony invited three VIP to lecture, all the content are full of Pro-U.S. patriotism(愛國主義) terms, and remind the graduates never forgot the threat from terrorism….about this issue, I was quite disapprobation and reserved my comments…..
The U.S. style grad. still have something special for me, because whether all people in uniforms or not, they all saluted solemnly when the band played the national anthem. At least they have minor problems for their national identification……maybe we all have to learn how to respect different groups and to reach the consensus!
Salute to the national anthem..........
The graduates are from all around the world.
I think it's a good chance to spread so called US's value.(But I like girl's Tatoo more...)
After grad. ceremomy, on the way to a local Japanese cuisine.
We met the part-time car-wash ladies.
Delicious Japanese cuisine
My dinner and did a shopping at the local supermarket(totally 40USD)---
that's my whole weeks 's material to cook!
**U.S. Army War College gave all the graduates a book as a present, ”Wolfhound Reflection-Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2007-2009”. I think that’s pretty interesting, because in the book they quite pride to operate the war in order to freedom the Iraqi. I remember when I took Metro to school, there’s a post on train and said, ”Freedom doesn’t Free”, along with a sad-uniformed solider. I mean, no mater what reasons to star a war, they still have to pay for what they have done………
